We’ve been playing around with a new sausage roll. This one’s got a bit more going on.

Chicken and pork, a touch of fat where it counts, plenty of garlic and onion. Smoked paprika does the heavy lifting, with cumin, oregano and a little chilli warming things up. There’s a splash of red wine vinegar in there too, just to keep it all in check.

It’s savoury, a little smoky, and just spiced enough without getting carried away.

Wrapped in buttery pastry, baked properly. The way it should be. It’s the kind of sausage roll you pick up for lunch… and then think about again later.
